Tommy Davidson

Tommy Davison was born on December 18, 1965 in Washington, D.C. He was adopted at the age of two by a civil rights activist, who was a friend of his biological mother. Upon graduating from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School in Bethesda, Maryland, he started as a student at the University of the District of, but withdrew from the university shortly after enrolling. With an impromptu performance at a Washington, D.C. night club in the late 1980’s, Davidson began his career as a standup comedian, and soon started touring the Washington D.C. area, Baltimore, and Philadelphia.
He first gained popularity for his roles on the variety show “In Living Color,” known for portraying characters such as Sammy Davis, Jr. He has also been featured in several major motion films, and was a recurring character on Fox’s “MADtv.” He is currently the voice of Oscar Proud, the father on the Disney animated series “The Proud Family.”
