"The Secret Garden", several made-for-TV movies based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's 1911 novel
Mary Lennox is orphaned when her parents die of cholera. She moves from the India home in which she was raised to Yorkshire, England to stay with a widower uncle who travels the world frequently, staying away from the house which constantly reminds him of his wife. While there, Mary hears others speaking about a garden which was loved by her uncle’s wife, and upon her death locked up by the uncle. Mary discovers the key, and vows to bring life back to the garden with the help of her friend Dickon. After hearing crying several nights in a row, Mary discovers a young boy, Colin. He is the son of Mary’s uncle, hidden away because his father fears he will have the same hunch back condition that has haunted him throughout his life. Throughout the course of the movie, Colin learns to walk, the garden flourishes, and happiness returns to the house.
