Some of our greatest role models are teachers, making teachers an extremely useful resource for promoting orphan awareness and orphan sponsorship. The Teacher's Orphan Awareness Kit offers information to students in an easy to understand format, involving them in learning about and sponsoring an orphan. Teachers are able to choose a country coinciding with current lessons and are provided with a map, cultural information, coloring pages and a lesson plan aimed at this country. An adoption booklist is provided as an option for teachers to choose related books for reading to the class. In addition, an exciting part of this kit is the Friendship Exchange Program, which allows students to send pictures to orphans of the same age, allowing a connection to be made with an orphan thousands of miles away.
