Gong Shuhao was born on 20th August, 1996. When he was three years old, it was determined that he had been born with congenital heart disease.  His lips were always purple and he could not walk very far without losing his breath. His parents were already under a heavy medical burden. The grandmother had been very ill for a long time and what little resources available to the family were being used for her care.  There was no way Gong Shuhao’s family could pay for the surgery he so desperately needed.

One man in the United States had a big heart for Chinese children.  He gave the money needed for Shuhao’s operation.  Now, thanks to his sponsor, this happy little boy no longer has purple lips and he can walk just as far as his little legs can carry him.
