Duan Zhiyang was a fragile child.  He was unable to keep up with other children his age and he was often sick.  Doctors determined that Duan Zhiyang suffered from congenital heart disease and, without corrective surgery, he would have a short life. His parents were destitute and had no hope of providing the surgery for their young son.

A group of employees at a bank held a fund raiser and used the money to sponsor the necessary surgery for Duan Zhiyang.  Now this little boy has every hope for a full and happy life.
