It is amazing that Bai Zhengshuai lived the first fourteen years of his life. He was born with congenital heart disease and doctors recommended corrective surgery from the day of his birth.  Zhengshuai’s parents hoped to provide for their son’s operation but they were too poor. So year after year, his surgery was postponed.

When a family in the United States lost their beloved grandfather, they decided to dedicate his memorial fund to providing medical care for children in China.  After all, the two youngest granddaughters were adopted from China and they were the light of Grandpa’s life in his final years.  Thanks to this fund, Bai Zhenguai, at the age of fourteen, received his long awaited surgery.  The young man has resolved to follow the example of his benefactors and help others less fortunate than he.
