Michael Bay
American film director
Michael Bay was born on February 17, 1965 in Los Angeles, California. He was adopted as an infant by an accountant and a child psychologist. After searching for his birth mother, he was able to find and meet her when he was twenty years old. He attended both the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California and Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
Bay’s first work in the entertainment industry included directing music videos and then television commercials. In addition to directing commercials for Nike, Coca-Cola, and many others, he was responsible for the very successful “Got Milk?” ad campaign, for which he earned several awards and honors.
In 1995, Bay directed Bad Boys, his first movie. He went on to direct such blockbuster hits as Armageddon, The Rock, Pearl Harbor, and Bad Boys II.
