Lee Majors
Actor
Lee Majors was born Harvey Lee Yeary on April 23, 1939 in Wyandotte, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. His father was killed in a work related accident right before he was born, and his mother was killed in a car accident about a year later. He was then adopted by Harvey and Mildred Yeary, his aunt and uncle, and upon learning that he was adopted at the age of 12, he felt a strong need to show them that he was someone to be proud of. As a result of this, he excelled at athletics at his high school in Middlesboro, Kentucky. However, as a student at Eastern Kentucky University, he suffered a severe football injury which prevented him from continuing his athletics career.
Afterward, he went on to become an incredibly popular actor, well known for his role in the television show “The Big Valley,” which aired from 1965 until 1969, and in “Six Million Dollar Man,” which aired from 1974 until 1978. He is currently married to Faith Majors.
