Jim Palmer
Former Major League baseball player
Jim Palmer was born on October 15, 1945. He was adopted early in life by Moe and Polly Wiesen from Harrison, N.Y. In 1962, Palmer graduated from high school and was signed by the minor leagues, while he was still only 17 years old.
Palmer entered major league baseball in 1965, and won his first game against the Yankees on May 16th of that year. He played for the Baltimore Orioles throughout his nineteen-year career, and is considered by some to be the greatest pitcher the team has ever had. Among many other accomplishments, Palmer has never allowed a grand slam during a game.
