Egyptian writer in Islamic theology

Imam Al-Suyuti, who was the writer of many important Islamic theological works, was born in 849H (1445 AD) in Cairo, Egypt. His father died when he was a young boy, and he was raised as an orphan from an early age. According to history, by the time he was eight years old Imam Al-Suyuti had memorized the entire Qur’an and he wrote his first book when he was only seventeen years old. In addition to Sharah Al-Isti’aadha wal-Basmalah, he also wrote Tafsir al-Jalalayn and almost 500 other works. His list of famous students includes Imam Al-Dawoodi, who wrote Tabaqaat Al-Mufassireen and the author of At-Tabaqaat Imam Ash-Shi’raanee.
