Donations and In-kind Gifts

1.How can I make a memorial gift or a gift in honor of someone?
You can make a memorial or honorarium gift by specifying so in the comments section of our online donation form or by sending a written request with your mailed donation. We will notify the person you specify of your generosity.

 

2. How can I make a donation to CHI?
 There are numerous ways to make a donation to CHI.

  • Automatic donations (preferred) - Through our website, you can select to make automatic payments to CHI using your credit card or electronic check. These payments may be made monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually.
  • Website - You may make a single donation through our website using a credit card or electronic check.
  • Phone - You may make a single donation over the phone with your credit card.  (314) 890-0086

3. How can I raise funds for CHI?
There are numerous ways to raise funds for CHI including our approved events, our gift catalog, and child sponsorship. Find out about more opportunities at our Get Involved section.

 

4. Can I send my used clothing and goods to you?
Due to customs regulations, shipping expenses, and a number of other reasons, CHI does not accept donations of used clothing or goods.  We suggest you donate any clothing or items to a local charity. They will appreciate your generosity.

 

5. Are contributions to CHI tax deductible?
Gifts to CHI are considered charitable contributions and are fully tax deductible. 

 

6. What percentage of my donation goes to the children and what goes to overhead?
At least 80% of all contributions will be directly used for CHI's programs and projects. Less than 20%, meanwhile, will be used to fund overhead expenses such as fundraising and administrative costs. 

 

7. How do I know my donations are going where you say they are going?
As a charity, CHI is fully accountable to the public and to the people we help.  We are audited regularly and publish a detailed financial and project report annually. Click here to see these reports.
